NDARINFO – Gaston Berger University (UGB) in Saint-Louis hosted a series of awareness activities on the harms of economic and financial delinquency. For three days, discussion sessions on these crucial partnership issues were organized by the Club Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) in collaboration with the National Anti-Corruption Office (OFNAC) ,
These days are part of a partnership agreement signed two years ago between OFNAC and UGB. Conferences, debates and workshops on corruption, misappropriation of public funds and illicit enrichment were held. A fictitious trial involving offenses falling within the jurisdiction of OFNAC put an end to the forum.
Ali Ousmane KHASSIM Hafiz, president of the OHADA club, underlined the liveliness of the exchanges which marked these three days. “Corruption is one of the evils that plague our societies,” he recalled, emphasizing the importance of early awareness among students.
For Saliou DIOP, head of OFNAC's Monitoring and Strategy division, this initiative is of particular importance. “These students will be required to occupy positions of responsibility in the next 5 to 6 years. It is crucial to raise their awareness now of the issues of corruption, so that they can exercise their future functions with probity and transparency,” a- he indicated.
This initiative demonstrates a strong desire to train a new generation of executives aware of the issues of good governance and committed to the fight against economic and financial delinquency in Senegal.
