The “Bulle d’Air” project in Monthey allows young people who have dropped out of school to follow an internship. For a year, the collaboration between the Orientation Cycle and the CRTO has allowed young people to get a taste for school again.

“The idea came from seeing the difficulty the school has with certain students who are completely dropping out,” straight away the director of the Monthey Orientation Cycle, Bertrand Duchoud, lays his cards on the table. Upon his appointment in 2023, he decided to take matters into his own hands, and the “Air Bubbles” pilot project came to life at the Reposieux CO.

With a group of teachers, including teacher Annie Sneiders, they created this program. Quickly, the Regional Work and Orientation Center (CRTO), which adjoins the Cycle, was contacted, and with it, internships, outside the school framework, were set up. Since then, just under a dozen school dropouts, aged 12 to 16, have been able to confront the professional world, within the adapted framework of the CRTO.

Note that to take part in the internships, a certificate must be provided by students who have dropped out of school.
