“My Christmas present”: this supporter who lives a stone’s throw from the Espaly stadium

“On game nights, I hear the players and the fans. » Installed a few hectometers from Viouzou, Alexandre Janik is a happy supporter. Tomorrow, at 8:45 p.m., his favorite club, , will come and challenge his city’s team, Espaly. A dream poster for the 36-year-old storekeeper. “I didn’t expect it. I was extremely surprised and happy. It’s my Christmas present, he savors. Usually, I have to travel hundreds of kilometers to see Dijon play. There, I would only have a hundred meters to go. »

Originally from Burgundy, Espaviot is a big supporter of Dijon. A club with which he fell in love from a very young age and with which each match is synonymous with anecdotes to tell, notably during the victory against (1-2) during the 2011-2012 season. “This is the happiest day of my life. I will never forget this meeting,” recalls Alexandre, still full of stars in his eyes. A love for DFCO that never left him, even after leaving his native Burgundy at the age of 23. After a stint at Moulins, it was in 2020 that he settled in Espaly. “I met my wife on August 4, 2015. She lived in Chaspinhac,” explains Alexandre Janik.

An acclimatization in Haute- which went extremely well to the point of no longer wanting to leave the department. “One day I was asked if I was ready to come back to Dijon. I said “no”. I love what Haute-Loire offers me, whether it’s culinary or cultural diversity. The quality of life is much better here,” appreciates Espaviot. An arrival in the 43 which also introduced him to Altiligrian football and in particular the Espaly club whose performances he follows. “I went to see the match against the reserves last year. Espaly has a very good team. It’s a shame that the results weren’t very good, but they have their place in National 3.”

A gift received from an Espaly player

Among his favorite players, we find Kévis Gjeci, whom he works alongside professionally. “It is very simple and accessible. » A relationship which led Alexandre to receive a nice gift from the number 11 of the Rouge et Noir: a signed jersey from Jules Meyer, the former playing master of Puy Foot who joined Dijon during the last summer transfer window. “He told me he knew Jules (Meyer) and asked him to give me a signed jersey. He gave me a great gift. I’m going to put it in a frame,” explains Alexandre, who particularly admires the former Puy player. “I didn’t expect to see a player like him sign for Dijon. I am convinced that he will have a very good career. He reminds me of Benjamin Corgnet. »

And to discuss the outcome of the meeting. “If Espaly wins, I would still be happy, because it’s the club from my city. Afterwards, I hope that Dijon will have a great epic. Above all, I want this match to remain a celebration and for the people of Dijon to have a great time,” puts this enthusiast into perspective, who was afraid of seeing the Burgundian supporters banned from traveling. Finally, they will be present and among them several friends of Alexandre who will discover Haute-Loire. And for Friday’s match his prediction is correct. “I would say 1-2 or 1-3 for Dijon with a goal from Kévis (Gjeci) for Espaly and for Dijon, a double from (Mohamed) Ben Fredj and a goal from (Jules) Meyer. »
