Marriott debuts in Senegal in Diamniadio, near Dakar

The Courtyard by Marriott Dakar Diamniadio, the group’s first hotel in Senegal.

Widely represented in English-speaking Africa since its acquisition in 2014 of the South African group Protea, the Marriott group is beginning to expand its footprint in West Africa. While a Sheraton will open at the start of the year in Mauritania, in Nouakchott, the American hotelier has just made its debut near Dakar, near the industrial park of Diamniadio and the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center. A city in full swing since the opening of the new Blaise Diagne international airport, around twenty minutes’ drive away, supplemented by the TER link linking the city to Dakar on one side and to the Senegalese hub on the other.

Responding to the growing number of travelers looking for quality accommodation in this new pole of the Senegalese economythe contemporary designed hotel offers 134 rooms and suites, all equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and flexible workspace.

Aimed at business travelers, the Courtyard by Marriott Dakar Diamniadio also has more than 500 square meters of versatile meeting and event space, the largest of its three rooms accommodating 160 people. The hotel’s F&B offering is based on its Gainde bar, next to reception, and the Laurier restaurant, offering a buffet of local and international dishes. The whole being completed by a outdoor pool and a gym equipped with Technogym machines.
