More than 100 applications were received, around fifty of which were selected to pitch to Essaouira, Fez, Tangier and Casablancaindicates the bank in a press release. Startups presented disruptive solutions in terms of green technologies and of sustainable development. At each stage of Greentech Roadshowa finalist has been chosen, bringing the number of semi-finalists to 4, who will be decided by order of merit during a grand final organized next January in Casablanca. At stake, a total cash prize of several thousand dirhams to be distributed between the 4 winners.

Among the projects that have attracted the most attention from jury composed of experts, the startups that proposed sustainable agricultural and agro-industrial recovery, fast, ecological and economical car washing, the recycling of organic waste into biofertilizers and the remote management of the energy consumption of buildings stood out.

In addition to startups, this roadshow brought together more than 230 participants, including high-ranking personalities starting with His Excellency, Andre AzoulayAdvisor to Her Majesty who kicked off the Greentech Roadshow au Technopark d’Essaouirabut also universities, companies and institutional partners of the BMCI. Among them, EuromedTHE CRI Fès-Meknes, Marrakech-Safi, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, EBFthe Leaders Club and the CI2RC.

The semi-final held in Casablanca on December 17 was an opportunity to sign a partnership between the BMCIrepresented by Hicham Seffachairman of the board and the Technoparkrepresented by Lamia Benmakhloufgeneral director, to strengthen the synergy between the two structures in terms of Open Innovation. With a strategy focused on innovation and social responsibilityBMCI positions itself as a major player in promoting innovation in the Moroccan ecosystem, by supporting new technological solutions and facilitating their integration into the local economy while being inclusive and offering pride of place to regional diversity and gender diversity through the highlighting of startups launched by women entrepreneurs, concludes the press release.
