The Greater Nancy Metropolis is organizing its 1st Conference of Economy and Attractiveness. The event takes place at the Center Prouvé, 1 place de la République in Nancy, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The objective is to engage all stakeholders in the economic, cultural, academic, tourist and residential influence of Greater Nancy in a strategy which must serve territorial attractiveness.
On the program, an opening on the theme “Nancy, does that mean something to you?” » by Martin Vanier, geographer specializing in territorial transformations in France between 9 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Then round tables around the actors of Greater Nancy until noon, with different themes:
- Nancy, we live there: an art of living
- Nancy, we excel at it: health for DNA
- Nancy, we (y) innovate: a lever for growth
- Nancy, we work there: tertiary territory, productive territory
Then, between 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m., François Werner, vice-president of the Greater Nancy Metropolis, delegate for attractiveness, economic development/tourism and Nancy Thermal, will unveil a new territorial brand and new tools for attractiveness . The morning will end with the perspectives of Mathieu Klein, president of the Métropole du Grand Nancy.
The Metropolis of Greater Nancy, a stronghold?
In any case with an urban area of 500,000 inhabitants, geographically, the Metropolis is well placed: 1h30 from Paris by TGV and at the heart of the European cross-border area. Student metropolis, with 55,000 students, university life is an integral part of Greater Nancy’s DNA. It is the 3rd densest student area in France. Also, in 2023, the Greater Nancy Metropolis will become the largest French spa area. And then, the Henri-Poincaré technopole, specialized in the scientific and medical fields, brings together 285 companies, 300 training components and 2,000 teacher-researchers from major national institutes. The Metropolis’s commitment has made it possible to structure centers of excellence and build internationally renowned laboratories such as the Jean Lamour Institute, one of the most influential European laboratories in materials engineering sciences. It is for all these reasons that the Metropolis decided to organize its first Conference on the Economy and Attractiveness.
