Arrested without a driving license, he filmed his excessive speeding at over 200 km/h – Medialot

Investigation carried out by the Lot gendarmes.

During a traffic police service, as occurs daily, soldiers from the Cahors motorized platoon checked a driver in the town of Cieurac. The latter turned out to be under a previous driving license suspension and was traveling on a without insurance. A procedure was then carried out.

This situation, unfortunately all too common on our roads, could have stopped there. However, this was without taking into account the instinct of road safety professionals who are the gendarmerie motorcyclists and the interest of the prosecution in serious offenses committed by road offenders.

Intrigued, the gendarmes carried out an environment on this offender, visibly impervious to respecting the highway code, and discovered, thanks to the support of the digital investigation unit (internet) of the group, the “pot aux roses” .

Using an on-board camera and a mobile phone, the latter immortalized on social networks the succession of road offenses that he committed while riding his motorcycle. The individual filmed himself speeding, sometimes exceeding 200 km/h on the roads of Lot. Not respecting any of the basic safety rules, he deliberately compromised the safety of other users, going so far as to digitally promote such excesses.

Investigations carried out under the direction of the Cahors public prosecutor's office led to his placement in police custody at the start of the week. After having admitted all of the alleged facts (filmed by him!), he was the subject of a referral to the Cahors judicial court.

The sanction fell: cancellation of the license with a ban on retaking it for 5 months, 6 months of suspended imprisonment, a fine of 600 euros, a road safety awareness course and of course the confiscation of the camera and especially of the motorcycle. Motorcycle, which could, as the law allows, potentially be assigned to the gendarmerie, in order to strengthen its means of combating serious road crime.
