needs a budget”, MP Hervé Berville against the censorship of the Barnier government

Less than six months after the surprise dissolution, the National Assembly is preparing this Wednesday to censure the government of Michel Barnier. This is a chaotic situation unprecedented since 1962 which would plunge the country into great political and budgetary uncertainty.

This afternoon, Hervé Berville, deputy for the 5th constituency will therefore be in the hemicycle to express his opposition. With his colleagues, he will examine these motions of censure tabled by the NFP and the alliance between the RN and the Ciottists, aimed at bringing down the Prime Minister and his government. The Breton Parliamentarian is completely against this censorship: “we are moving towards a worsening of the political situation in and therefore a worsening of the problems of our fellow citizens”.

“Everyone must take responsibility”

“A few hours before the vote,” said the former Secretary of State, “I call on the responsibility of politicians who put the general interest above the interests of their party and on everyone to put away their resentments against the Prime Minister or the President of the Republic.

“The country needs a budget and it cannot be all or nothing: either we agree with the budget or we bring down the government,” continues Hervé Berville, deploring the situation. The elected official believes that “compromise is always preferable”. Because in the end, he regrets, “The French will pay the price”.
