Party press release.
Through the voice of its president, Capucine Fiacre, Renaissance Lot challenges the 2 deputies on their position regarding the motion of censure: “The Barnier government risks falling, taking with it the budget for France and the French. The political situation in the National Assembly is alarming. The socialist, rebellious, environmentalist, communist deputies and those of the National Rally joined forces to vote together on the motion of censure, to the detriment of the interests of the French. Their behavior is irresponsible! While we must vote on a budget for the year 2025, these deputies prefer to plunge our country into economic and social instability rather than guarantee a budget which would prevent the country's economic situation from worsening. I call on the deputies from Lot, Aurélien Pradié and Christophe Proenca to rise to the challenges of the moment and show responsibility. If MP Christophe Proença positions himself alongside the Insoumis and the National Rally by voting for this motion of censure, he will have to face the consequences in front of the people of Lot. He will have to assume that French income tax will increase by 3 billion euros, because the scale cannot be indexed to inflation. He will then have to assume that 17.6 million households will see their tax increase and 380,000 French people who were previously exempt will have to start paying from 2025. He will have to assume that for couples of Lotois retirees with a retirement pension of only 1 800 euros will be reduced by 100 euros per month. Mr. Proença will also have to assume the deprivation of the exceptional aid of 100 million euros planned for EHPADs, as well as the 200 million euros allocated to the departments to pay the personalized autonomy allowance to the most fragile Lotois. Worse still, in a department where the agricultural crisis threatens to worsen, he will have to answer to farmers for the lack of entry into force of the new method of calculating their retirement from January 1, 2026. Finally, he will have to explain why 7 billion euros planned for hospitals will not be allocated, further threatening our health system. If the Socialist Party still has a vocation to exist, it must live up to the expectations of the French. It is urgent to put an end to this chaos and political instability driven by the extremes. Our fellow citizens expect their elected officials to be responsible and to place the general interest at the heart of their decisions. »
