Christmas trees were hung upside down in Tulle last night, Monday, December 2. Trees decorated with panels representing the issues and demands of Corrèze Young Farmers, tired of walking on their heads.

In addition to the fir trees, the farmers gave gifts to the prefect, objects symbolizing their current difficulties. A symbolic action as the Christmas holidays approach, to initiate discussion and propose solutions.

“We don't ask for gifts by the thousands, explains Antoine Brousse, president of the Young Farmers of Corrèze. But, we would like respect and the implementation of certain laws, certain standards, which had been requested and which would allow us to be better paid, less bothered on a daily basis in our work.”

The price of milk, remuneration, wildlife damage, transmission… In total, seven gifts for seven issues, presented calmly and received attentively by a prefect very familiar with agricultural issues.

“I find that here in Corrèze, the state services have been very mobilized in recent weeks, justifies the prefect of Corrèze, Etienne Desplanques. There is still a lot to do, but there is an awareness that is growing. We're starting to get some results.”

A simplification of administrative procedures, tax advantages during transmissions, progress obtained through hard struggles during the mobilizations at the start of the year and threatened by the uncertainties hanging over the government.
