Coussac-Bonneval. 40 years of the Cuma de Coussac-Bonneval. Cuma (agricultural equipment use cooperative) was created in 1984, at the initiative of a group of farmers wishing to acquire equipment jointly.
The observation was as follows: a farmer could not buy agricultural equipment alone due to very high prices. Acquiring new, efficient, innovative equipment jointly allows you to reduce costs and produce more quickly and efficiently. European subsidies supplemented these purchases and today, Cuma, with its 40 members, has substantial equipment: three skips, a telescopic, an excavator, a machine carrier. Each machine has a “manager” who must follow the scrupulous maintenance of the equipment.
During this festive day, around sixty people (members and former members) were present. They noted the arrival of newly acquired equipment. On this occasion, the general assembly and the Board of Directors took place confirming the president, Emmanuel Blondy, in his position for ten years. The secretary is Loïc Kammerer, the treasurer is Patrice Blancher. Jean Fargeas, former president of the Cuma for 27 years, received all the honors for having made the Cuma grow and evolve. Since its creation, the number of members has decreased but turnover remains stable. A meal much enjoyed by all ended late in the night.
