At Grau-du-Roi (Gard), the festivities of Noël are done in seaside. A little luxury that promises many memorable moments for all the families who come to discover the rich program concocted by the municipality.

Sound and light show, games and workshops for children, fireworks, shows and cinema… The festivities promise to be unforgettable once again. Here is the program.

Launch of illuminations imminent

One of the highlights of these festivities will undoubtedly be the launch of the Christmas lights. This will take place this Friday November 29at 6 p.m., on the town hall square.

“Come and share this magical moment with Christmas carols by the choir of the Eric-Turquay Municipal School of Arts, wine and hot chocolate,” encourages the municipality. While waiting for the big day, whether for older or younger children, the City of Grau-du-Roi invites the population to come and participate in several activities/entertainments.

This will be an opportunity to come and discover, if you have not yet done so, the new Ernest-Hemingway media library.

The pace will accelerate from December 14

  • A exhibition of 3e drawing competition “A Christmas at Grau-du-Roi” is organized in the Hall of the Palais du Sport, from December 14 to 21. THE children aged 3 to 11 can submit the drawings at the town hall reception until December 12.
  • The Santa's mailbox is open until December 15, in front of the Eugénie-Deleuze nursery school. Children can send their letter to Little Santa Claus, 1 rue du Ciel Étoilé, North Pole.
  • Sunday, December 15, at 4 p.m.: show “The magical funfair” (from 3 years old), at the Espace Jean-Pierre Cassel. Information on 04 66 51 10 73. Sale of drinks and cakes by parent-teacher associations.
  • Wednesday, December 18, at 7 p.m.: Christmas musical evening students from the Éric-Turquay School of Arts, at the Espace Jean-Pierre Cassel. Free entry upon reservation, subject to availability. Information: 04 66 51 10 70.

A breathtaking sound and light show

Another highlight of the festivities:

  • the sound and light show The Old Lighthouse in light », on the Parvis de l’Ancien Phare – 2 quai Général-de-Gaulle. From December 21 to 23, at 6 and 9 p.m. Single screening on the 21st at 7 p.m. and the 28th at 8 p.m.
  • Saturday December 21, at 2 p.m.: cinema session “The Great Animal Christmas”. Vog Cinema – Free – From 3 years old – 1 hour.
  • Sunday December 22, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.: carriage ridewith Santa Claus Opposite the town hall (Post office side).
  • From December 22 to January 2, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. (except 12/25 and 01/01): games and entertainment for children in front of the town hall – Esplanade Étienne-Mourrut (mini traveling farm, wooden games, adventure course, inflatable structures, carousel, etc.).

Common thread activities

Other activities will be added as a common thread, such as the “Elves Challenge” which will take place from Saturday December 21 to Saturday January 4, at the Tourist Office. 4€/person. Free for children under 5 years old.

It will also be possible to witness the lighting of the Espiguette Lighthouse lantern, from December 21 to January 5, every day at 5 p.m. 12€/person. “Come and experience a magical moment watching the lighthouse light up at nightfall… Windbreaker and hat recommended,” warns the City. Fireworks on December 28

Another moment not to be missed, the lantern walkand the fireworks starting from the Old Lighthouse.

The children will receive a lantern to illuminate and accompany the magical walk from the “Lampion Ball” to the fireworks display in front of the Town Hall.
