Around fifteen operations on the island's roads this weekend, 112 infractions noted and 19 licenses withdrawn

The gendarmerie took stock of the control operations carried out on the roads of Island this weekend. Across 15 operations deployed, law enforcement observed no less than 112 offenses.

These interventions aimed to combat dangerous behavior and strengthen the safety of road users. As reported by Zinfos974, among the offenses noted, 15 driving under the influence of alcohol were recorded, as well as 13 under the influence of narcotics.

Motorcyclists from the Departmental Road Safety Squadron (EDSR) also sanctioned 7 speeding violations. These offenses led to the withdrawal of 19 driving licenses and the administrative impounding of 12 vehicles.

A special system was put in place on Saturday evening, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., in the Sainte-Marie and Saint-Leu sectors, where teams focused on addictive behavior.

The gendarmerie reports that 37 offenses were recorded, including 13 related to alcohol and 10 to drug consumption. In total, 9 vehicles were impounded during this targeted evening.
