The Loire and Haute-Loire are on orange alert until at least 6 p.m. this evening: the meteorological agency expects winds of 120 km/h this afternoon in the Gier valley and Pilat.
No damage at this stage
The major consequence of these violent winds is the interruption of rail traffic in the Loire this Monday at least until 4 p.m., a preventive measure from the SNCF.

Parks and gardens closed in several cities
In Saint-Etienne, parks, gardens and outdoor sports venues are closed until 4 p.m. The Christmas market remains open at Place de l'Hôtel de Ville but the Ferris wheel is closed and a security perimeter is installed around the large tree at Place Jean-Jaurès.
Saint-Chamond and Sorbier have also made the decision to close their parks and gardens, while in Rive-de-Gier, access to the cemetery is prohibited this Monday.
