the RN ready for censorship, declares Marine Le Pen after her interview with Michel Barnier, “steady on its positions” – Libération

The president of the RN group in the National Assembly affirmed this Monday, November 25 that “her position has not evolved. No more, it seems, than that of the Prime Minister has evolved.

Michel Barnier, more than ever under pressure. At the end of her meeting with the Prime Minister this Monday, November 25, Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Rally deputies, affirmed that Michel Barnier “appeared stuck on its positions” about the budget. The far-right leader therefore remains ready to vote on a motion of censure if the budget remains “as is” . “My position has not changed. No more, it seems, than that of the Prime Minister has evolved.she said as she left Matignon.

The leader of the National Rally deputies explained that she “repeated his red lines” to the Prime Minister who “appeared at the same time courteous and firm in his positions”. She ruled in particular that “the increase in taxes on electricity was unacceptable”just like the deindexation of pensions, even reduced by half. She denounced “the reimbursement of medicines” and demanded “clear savings” on immigration, in particular the state medical aid budget, as well as “the functioning of the State”.

Immigration, proportional and agriculture

Le Pen downplayed the consequences of rejecting the budget, refusing to give in “to the little music consisting of saying if this budget is ever refused, if there is censorship, it will be dramatic, it will be chaos, etc.”. “It is last year’s budget that will apply. It is rather less bad than this one since there are fewer taxes that will weigh on the working classes and the middle classes”she judged. Outside of the budget, the two officials discussed immigration, proportional and agriculture, she indicated, but without any news from the Prime Minister on these subjects according to her.

Marine Le Pen arrived without a word around 8:30 a.m., accompanied by RN deputy Jean-Philippe Tanguy, who had said he was ready to vote “against” the budget, and Renaud Labaye, secretary general of the group in the National Assembly.

“Michel Barnier creates the conditions for censorship”judged the vice-president of the National Rally, Sébastien Chenu, on Sunday. And the RN lists its grievances: revaluation of pensions, tax on electricity, “increase in ’s contribution to the European Union”or even the absence of savings in “the millefeuille of the State” et “on immigration”.
