Sunday November 10, 2024the CPG-CATM-OPEX widows and citizens of peace section was at the war memorial in Retiers (Ille-et-Vilaine) to commemorate the armistice of the First World War.
Wreath of cornflowers and sheaves
A ceremony marked this year by the significant presence CM 1 and CM 2 students from the Edouard Mahé public primary school accompanied by their director and teachers.
These young students submitted a cornflower crown in addition to the traditional sheaves at the foot of the war memorial in memory of the soldiers who died for France.
This crown was made as part of a memory project involving the school, the association Resterian recreation and our section.
Three Citizens of Peace badges
At the end of this ceremony, the mayor invited all participants to go to the multipurpose room.
There, a surprise awaited them. THE young students were given Blueberries from France in gratitude for their involvement in the work of memory and their presence at the ceremony.
He was also awarded three badges of Citizens of peace one of which was particularly noted since it concerned Jade Soulas, 9 ansundoubtedly one of the youngest citizens of peace.
