He is a well-known figure in agriculture in Indre who was distinguished, this Friday, November 22, 2024, in the Crédit Agricole auditorium, in Châteauroux. On the sidelines of the general assembly of the federation of Cooperatives for the use of agricultural equipment (Cuma) of Indre, its president, Olivier Fruleux, received the medal of knight of the order of agricultural merit (1). A distinction which was presented to him by Bruno Tardieu, president of Crédit agricole Centre-Ouest and himself a knight of this order, who congratulated this “modern-day adventurer who did not hesitate to leave his region of birth to satisfy his passion as a man of the land in other countries or other regions”.
Indeed, originally from Hazebrouck (North), where he was born on February 11, 1964, Olivier Fruleux spent eight years in Venezuela, where he met the woman who would become his wife, Xiomara Fernandez Ruiz, with whom he had three children. . After completing an internship in Indre with Mr. and Mrs. Lefranc, in Chavin, in 1979-1980, he then returned there to settle there, in 1991, in Mosnay, at the La Jalousie estate, where the Lefrancs had indicated that a farm was for sale.
“Recognized talents of a good manager”
He discovered the world of the Cuma shortly after his installation by joining the Cuma des Oliviers in 1993. He then became treasurer of the latter in 1995, and took the position of president of the Cuma de l'Indre from 2011, which has since earned him a seat in the Chamber of Agriculture, but also in other professional agricultural organizations.

Olivier also invests in his region by becoming a director of Crédit agricole at the local bank of Argenton-sur-Creuse in 2021, where he is today vice-president. »
