UThick smoke emerged in the Hazebrouckois sky in the evening. A little before 9 p.m., Wednesday November 13, firefighters were alerted to a fire.
A major effort was undertaken to control a fire which broke out in the former slaughterhouses in Hazebrouck, rue du Milieu. The site of the former slaughterhouses was already the scene of a fire last January.
The Hazebrouck police and a team from Enedis were mobilized on site. Around 10 p.m., firefighters managed to control the flames. According to initial information collected on site, the start of the fire would be intentional.
Three individuals taken into custody
Indeed, witnesses claim to have seen people running from the scene. Three individuals from Hazebrouck, including a minor, were arrested in the parking lot on rue du Milieu by the police. Two of them admitted the facts, all three were placed in police custody.
On site, firefighters from Bailleul, Hazebrouck, Estaires, Renescure, Merville and Dunkerque were mobilized. No injuries were reported.
