Since early morning, snow has been falling in Calvados this Thursday, November 21, 2024. This is causing traffic difficulties on several axes of the department, in particular the A84 motorway.

The A84 motorway closed between Villers-Bocage and Villedieu-les-Poêles

Indeed, the A84 is closed in both directions in places between Caen and Rennes.
The highway is indeed cut between Villers-Bocage and Villedieu-les-Poêles. A section near Avranches is also closed. Diversions are therefore put in place for motorists.

Heavy goods vehicles prohibited on the A84, the A13 and the RN158

THE heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes are traffic bans on the A84 motorway, as well as the A13 and the Caen-Falaise dual carriageway (RN158). A storage area was set up in Tourville-sur-Odon, near Verson, on the left lane of the motorway, with around 200 heavy goods vehicles parkedwhile waiting for the end of the snowy episode.

Orange vigilance maintained for this Friday in Calvados

Be careful on these roads for motorists, just as on the RN13 towards Bayeux, the RN158 towards Falaise or the RD562 towards Thury-Harcourt where the circulation can sometimes be complicated.

Calvados remains placed on orange alert for this Friday, November 22 where the snow and ice could be present in the morning.
