Rabat – The President of the House of Advisors, Mohamed Ould Errachid, met on Wednesday in Rabat with the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, visiting the Kingdom.
On this occasion, Mr. Ould Errachid welcomed this parliamentary visit which reflects the solidity of relations between Morocco and Serbia and establishes the parliamentary dimension of the partnership between the two friendly countries, indicates a press release from the Chamber.
He also mentioned the historical depth of bilateral relations, since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1957, as well as the solid ties of cooperation based on common action, credibility and mutual respect.
The President of the House of Advisors also noted that these relations have experienced, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, a qualitative evolution, in particular thanks to the strategic vision of the Sovereign aimed at strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation with the Republic of Serbia, as part of the diversification of partnerships.
Mr. Ould Errachid, in this regard, noted that the results of this Royal vision have materialized through the remarkable dynamics experienced by relations between the two countries at different levels.
In this sense, he welcomed the support of the Republic of Serbia for the autonomy initiative under Moroccan sovereignty, considered as a serious and credible solution to resolve this artificial regional conflict around the Moroccan Sahara, affirming that this position is part of in a dynamic of growing and broad support for this initiative, which reflects the support of the international community for the vision of the Kingdom, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, for the future of the Moroccan Sahara.
Mr. Ould Errachid, on this occasion, extended an invitation to Ms. Brnabić to visit the southern provinces of the Kingdom, in order to see first-hand the development and economic growth of these regions, in particular thanks to the large-scale structuring projects launched by HM the King, as well as to observe the extent of progress made in various areas of development.
Concerning the aspect of parliamentary cooperation, the President of the House underlined the importance of parliamentary diplomacy to strengthen bilateral relations between Morocco and Serbia, deepen understanding and dialogue between the representatives of the people of the two friendly countries and bring together visions and points of view on bilateral and multilateral issues.
For her part, Ms. Brnabić expressed her determination to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two legislative institutions and intensify coordination and consultations, in particular through the exchange of visits, experiences and know-how in various areas of work. parliamentary, as well as all joint initiatives aimed at consolidating institutional relations and raising them to a level of productive partnership.
She also praised the joint efforts made to develop economic relations between the two countries, raising them to the height of distinguished political relations, highlighting the promising opportunities and potential offered by the two countries.
During this meeting, Ms. Brnabić praised the development and progress that Morocco has experienced on all levels, particularly political, economic and human, expressing her admiration for the development vision of HM King Mohammed VI.
In this sense, she affirmed her country’s desire to share experiences and expertise with the Kingdom of Morocco in areas of common interest.
