The draw for the round of 16 of the Coupe de l'Indre took place this Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the premises of Intersport, partner and official equipment supplier of the Indre district since 2020 and whose contract has been renewed for the next two seasons.
This was carried out in the presence of Berrichonne professional players Giovani Versini and Wilson Samaké, who, visibly, still has in the back of his mind a Gambardella Cup semi-final lost two and a half years ago with Rennes in Caen (3-3, 5-3 on the tabs).
The title holder, Déols, will go to BVN
These round of 16 will take place on November 30 and December 1 with the exception of the clubs still qualified in the Center Cup (Le Poinçonnet, BVN, Montgivray and Buzançais) who will play on December 22, 2024 just like Lamifa (D3) who will receive the winner of the meeting between La Châtre (D1) and Saint-Gaultier (D2).
Winner of the last two editions, FC Déols (R1) will once again be the big favorite of this 84e edition and will travel to the BVN pitch (D1). Arpheuilles-Clion (D2) who scored 35 goals in the first two rounds will have a lot to do this time since the men of President Maxence Levêque will face US Argenton-Le Pêchereau (R3).
Buzançais – Diors, the big poster
As for the regional teams which enter the competition in 16es final, it is clear that they were not spared: Buzançais (R3) and Diors (R3) will battle it out while the finalist of the last edition Montgivray (R3) will receive Villers (D1), Vatan (R3 ) will be opposed to the leader of D1, Villedieu, and Le Poinçonnet (R3) will travel to Poulaines, currently third in D1.
Obviously two D3s at least in the round of 16
This round will also be marked by the Castelroussin derby which will pit OC Châteauroux (D3) against Saint-Christophe (D2). Finally, the icing on the cake is that there will be at least two D3 teams in the round of 16 since Étrechet (D3) will host Ambrault (D3) while Luant (D3) will host Tendu (D3).
