Aurélien Pradié deputy for Lot
This Monday, November 18, Aurélien Pradié, deputy for Lot, and Guillaume Lepers, deputy for Lot-et-Garonne, received the local press at the former's office. Aurélien Pradié began the meeting by thanking Guillaume Lepers for his presence, specifying that both had known each other for a long time (Guillaume Lepers was mayor of Villeneuve-sur-Lot before becoming a deputy) and that beyond politics, Guillaume Lepers is elected under the LR label and we know that Aurélien Pradié is not registered, a solid friendship linked them even before the last elections. They both wanted to increase this collaboration, with their respective teams, for Lot and Lot-et-Garonne, but also on a national level. They “founded” a small group at the AN which meets every Wednesday with deputies from other political groups to discuss subjects of national interest, without the idea of forming a new political group or a new party: “it is a group for the exchange of ideas and reflection, to find solutions beyond the divisions to rebuild the country.” Guillaume Lepers recalls that they belong to two different departments, but also to two different regions, which complicates things. However, the two constituencies have common problems, in terms of work and rurality. Three areas on which they will apply their efforts: firstly the development of the Lot valley, a link between the two departments, through tourism and access to water. The second point is health with a hospital in Cahors and one in Villeneuve-sur-Lot. The third point is rurality and the divide between “rural” elected officials and “urban dwellers.” They conclude by announcing their wish to enlarge their group by welcoming other deputies, convinced that they are that speaking in groups gives more weight than speaking alone.
