An unusual intervention to say the least. This Thursday morning, firefighters from the Oise Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis 60) were called to a fire that occurred on a small private farm in Lavilletertre. A team therefore goes to this small town of 600 people located in Vexin, on the border of the neighboring department of Val-d'Oise.
“They were on intervention to put out the fire and they made a discovery in the garage,” said a source. There were cannabis plants and all the equipment needed to grow illicit products. They therefore called the gendarmerie services who intervened. » An additional search of the premises revealed 170 grams of narcotics and 13 plants of cannabis.
The individual who owns this illegal plantation is 24 years old. He is not known to the courts. Arrested by the police, he was taken into custody around 3 p.m. this Thursday. “Judicial proceedings have been opened by the Beauvais public prosecutor’s office. The investigations are continuing,” confirms Frédéric Trinh, the public prosecutor of Beauvais.
The illegal production or manufacture of narcotics may be considered an act of trafficking. The penalty incurred can be up to 20 years in prison with a fine of up to 7.5 million euros depending on the quantities seized.
In the Oise, this type of discovery is not an isolated case. In September, the gendarmes of the Estrées-Saint-Denis brigade got their hands on sixteen plants of cannabis spread across three cultivation rooms in Canly. In 2023, a production of a completely different scale was discovered in two pavilions in Venette and Arsy. In total, no less than 450 plants were discovered by the police.
