INFO LE FIGARO – The president visited the cathedral, off camera and accompanied by the Archbishop of Paris, Friday morning. He will return to it in more detail on November 29 to meet his companions and employees.
The diocese of Paris announced the arrival at Notre-Dame, Friday November 15, of the statue of the Virgin and Child – preserved since the fire at the Saint Germain l'Auxerrois church. In the morning, a few hours before the procession, it was Emmanuel Macron that the site managers saw arriving for a surprise visit. For the President of the Republic, this is a reconnaissance visit, before a meeting planned on the site with companions and patrons, on November 29.
The visit should take place in the presence of the Archbishop of Paris, Mgr Ulrich, the president of the Public Establishment Philippe Jost and the chief architect Philippe Villeneuve. This is the seventh time in five years that the President of the Republic has visited the cathedral, where he has followed the different stages of restoration.
