It is expected that the pace of completion of this vital dam will be accelerated, with the aim of ensuring the supply of drinking water, providing irrigation water to agricultural lands, in addition to generating energy hydroelectric, protect against flooding and improve groundwater recharge. The reservoir volume of the dam is approximately 1.69 billion cubic meters.
