A student from Claude Gramont high school in Colombes, in Hauts-de-Seine, slapped and strangled her teacher in the middle of class, reports Europe 1.

The teenager violently attacked the teacher by throwing herself at her, while the latter was asking her class to change the arrangement of the tables in the room for the purposes of an evaluation.

An adult from the high school, alerted by the screams, intervened to end the altercation. The police were quickly dispatched to the site after being contacted by the establishment's educational team. The young high school student was arrested and placed in police custody.

Teachers on strike

The victim had marks on his neck, but did not require special care. She was therefore not transported to hospital, but plans to file a complaint against her student.

The Nanterre public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into intentional violence resulting in an ITT of less than eight days in a school establishment. This Thursday, all high school teachers are on strike.
