Leave to come back betterthis is the project with which six young people from the local Mission of Bagnols-sur-Cèze and one from the Alès branch are leaving for Prague on Saturday November 16 to complete a four-week internship. “It allows young people to get a great experience abroad.”, explains Mohamed Ben Moussa, head of the Local Mission of Gard Rhodanien Uzège at the Bagnols-sur-Cèze branch.

The group is aged between 18 and 24 and all seven are registered with the youth employment contract (supported by Travail). While some preferred to find an internship in structures supporting children with disabilities, others opted for activities in youth hostels or communications for the Dukla Prague football club. Despite the various professional projects, one phrase comes up on everyone's lips: “We're really excited to be there, it's going to be a crazy experience.

A “free” trip

The project leave to come back better is entirely funded by the region and the European Union through the Erasmus + program. The seven trainees will be housed in a residence and will benefit from a grant of €400 to eat on site. “The goal is that young people do not have to take money out of their pocketsunderlines Monika Oszmaniec, Erasmus + project manager at the House of Europe. Cultural outings are also scheduled. It is a journey for personal development. They will come out changed.

On site, the young people will be monitored by a member of the project's partner association. “We will organize meetings with them very regularly“, adds Frédéric Combernous, director of the Local Youth Mission.

At the end of their trip, the seven trainees will obtain Europass certification to validate the skills and knowledge acquired during their professional training.
