“We will get underway from Monday” November 18, said the president of the FNSEA Arnaud Rousseau on Wednesday November 13 on France Inter, while the G20 meeting is being held in Brazil on November 17 and 18 where the treaty between the European Union and the Mercosur countries could be signed . The main agricultural union intends “call out to public authorities” on the risk of “dramatic consequences” in the event of the entry into force of the treaty negotiated by the EU and South American countries.

“We are going to hit the road again from next Monday”. The president of the FNSEA, the leading agricultural union, launched, Wednesday, November 13, a call for the mobilization of farmers “in all departments” from November 18. That day, “the G20 will open in Brazil”where the draft free trade treaty between the European Union and the Latin American countries of Mercosur will be examined, which “risks having dramatic consequences”explained Arnaud Rousseau, on France Inter.

“We want to challenge the public authorities on this subject”added the union leader, assuring that the FNSEA did not intend to block any highways at this stage. “We are not here to annoy the French”he assured, specifying that the envisaged movement would extend over “a few days”.

The FNSEA had already mentioned the resumption of actions from mid-November, once winter sowing was completed. These national actions are announced less than a year after a movement of historic scale.

For its part, Rural Coordination, the second agricultural union in the country, promised “an agricultural revolt” starting November 19, with a “blocking food freight”. As for the Peasant Confederation, it plans actions against “free trade agreements” or “land grabbing by energy companies”.
