The SOS box, a small object that has a great powerarrives at Perray-en-Yvelines. It is on this project, among others, that Marie-José Peter has been working since the start of the mandate. The municipal councilor responsible for Seniors was inspired by the breadcrumbs imagined by the Lions Club for its implementation.

The device consists of a sticker to be affixed to the front door of the home and a small airtight box to place inside the refrigerator, “because we find them in almost all homes,” says Marie-José Peter.

The SOS box was recently presented during Blue Week. And she is a parrot, since she was manufactured by the company Baudoin Screenprint.

“It is made to save lives. It allows emergency services to intervene more quickly. They find valuable information there. »

Identity, medical information

The box in question contains a information sheet. It includes information related to identity, the person to contact in the event of an emergency, but also and above all medical data: contact details of the treating doctor, history, allergies or even current treatments, etc.

“If the beneficiaries cannot complete this form, their doctor will be able to help them,” specifies the municipal councilor responsible for Seniors, who has already raised the subject with that of Perray.

To the Saint-Jacques residencethe device is already at work. “The emergency services have already intervened,” said the elected official.

For people over 65

The SOS box for “over 65s” living alone“. “In Perray-en-Yvelines, this concerns around 150 people,” calculates Marie-José Peter. To benefit from it, simply go to the Solidarity House during opening hours starting this Tuesday, November 12, 2024. The system is only offered to residents of Perray-en-Yvelines. Please note, proof of address may be requested.

This service could be extended to other categories. Elderly couples or even disabled people could potentially soon benefit from it. The expansion of the system is under consideration.
