Two weeks after his terrible fall from the fourth floor of a building in Villefontaine (Isère), the 8-year-old child died, said the Grenoble public prosecutor, Eric Vaillant, on November 9.
The events occurred in a residential area of Villefontaine, rue de Kahl Am Main. The young victim was transported to the Femme Mère Enfant hospital in Bron, in the Rhône, after being resuscitated on site by emergency services.
On October 27, the boy was pushed into the void by his older brother, aged 26, according to the first elements of the investigation and the hearings. Main suspect, he was placed in police custody after the tragedy, but this was lifted because his state of health was deemed incompatible. “A psychiatric assessment of the accused is essential to assess whether his or her discernment is abolished or impaired.” declared the public prosecutor three days after the events.
An investigation was opened for “attempted homicide of a minor under 15 years of age” and entrusted to the Bourgoin-Jallieu research brigade. The Grenoble public prosecutor's office took up the matter. For now, “there is no judicial information yet open” said Eric Vaillant on November 9.
