Attracted by the stage, Serge Vincent went to Paris to become an actor. It was the end of the 1960s and nothing predestined this young Montpellier native, from a background of artisans, to pursue an artistic career.
Through stubbornness, he ended up making a place for himself in the world of entertainment, alternating roles in theater, television and cinema. It was then the golden age of French productions, from the public service. A breeding ground for employment, threatened by deregulation policies carried out during the 1980s.
Very quickly, he learned to deal with the difficulties of the profession and ended up getting involved in trade unionism. A fight that he leads alongside his vocation as an actor. He then also became a fierce defender of the interests of performing artists.
His memoirs published by Editions l'Harmattan retrace an atypical journey in the world of entertainment and trade unionism.
