Fatal accident in Aude, between Limoux and Alet: the victim is an emblematic figure of Couiza, her husband is in intensive care

Marie-Jeanne Ribera, a well-known resident of Couiza, died in the accident which occurred on Thursday November 7 between Limoux and Alet-les-Bains. Her husband, André Ribera, a key rugby figure, is in intensive care.

We know more about the traffic accident that occurred on Thursday November 7 around 6 p.m., on the RD118 between Alet-les-Bains and Limoux.

The victim of this fatal accident is none other than Marie-Jeanne Ribera. Aged 89, living in Couiza, she was well known and appreciated there both for her work within the administration of the Jean-Baptiste-Bieules college, and for her involvement in the local rugby club alongside her husband, André, who gave his name to the town's stadium.

Although significant emergency resources were dispatched to the scene of this frontal collision, the octogenarian was unfortunately unable to be resuscitated. Her husband, André Ribera, is currently in intensive care at hospital. He suffered multiple fractures to his pelvis and ribs, and a hematoma to his chest.

Mother of three children, Marie-Jeanne Ribera was a grandmother five times and a great-grandmother three times. The writing of The Independent extends its condolences to them and their loved ones.
