On Thursday, November 28, the Haut-Rhin prefecture, in collaboration with the municipality of Eguisheim, will organize a civil security exercise simulating a terrorist attack during the Christmas market. This exercise, which will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., aims to test the effectiveness of intervention systems in crisis situations and to strengthen the coordination of the different services.
The exercise will make it possible to implement the procedures of the ORSEC – NOVI (Numerous Victims) plan and to test the responsiveness of the emergency services, the alert chain
the evacuation and care of victims, as well as informing the population.
The municipality of Eguisheim will activate its PCS (Communal Safeguarding Plan) as part of this event.
The FR-Alert system will also be activated, making it possible to send notifications to people located in the town of Eguisheim or even in the immediate vicinity. The alerts will specify that this is an exercise.
People who receive the alert notification on their mobile phone will not need to take any action.
Many emergency vehicles and security forces will be circulating in the town.
This field exercise will mobilize numerous actors as well as extras.
The Haut-Rhin prefect informs local residents and the public of this exercise in order to avoid possible reactions of concern.
