In Île-de-France, the sun has been looking dim since the beginning of November. The city of Paris was only allowed 8 hours 27 minutes of sunshine during this first week, according to a weather report from the Paris-Montsouris station.

This represents a drop of 88%, compared to seasonal norms calculated over a period from 1991 to 2020.

7:22 a.m. in Trappes, 7:50 a.m. in Melun

But the inhabitants of the capital are not the most to be pitied. With 7h22 of sunshine this week, the town of Trappes () recorded a drop of 89%, compared to a period from 1991 to 2020.

Same observation for Melun (Seine-et-). The city was sunny for 7:50 hours, which represents a drop of 89% compared to normal from 1991 to 2020.

The sunshine is not expected to improve in the coming days for these Ile-de-France towns. Low clouds and gray weather are expected to continue for the next few days.

This weather is explained by anticyclonic conditions, the absence of wind, a very high humidity level and lower temperatures than in summer.
