Every year the Sarrancolin club invites its members (without competition) to share a day of conviviality and visit places close to our department.
An outing on the hilly roads of the Gers with the local heritage as a backdrop was organized recently. After a year full of sporting events of all kinds, the club's cyclists carried out their end-of-season outing with a discovery trip around Simorre, a charming and welcoming Gers village, rich in history and surrounded by remarkable sites. Almost all of the club's fans were present as well as their spouses: no less than 29 people. They drove to discover new routes, new landscapes with picturesque villages, from castles to traditional buildings… Through a countryside still in turmoil, the Astarac lake, Saint-Plancart, the Mémorial du Maquis de Meilhan, the Boulaur Abbey, the miraculous spring of Saintes and the very picturesque and well-maintained village of Simorre.
Throughout the day, participants were accompanied by Guidon Simorrain members who completed the visits with informed comments. A sporting and cultural journey which also delighted the walkers who filled out the photo album.
A Gascon picnic was shared with Simorraine colleagues near the infrastructures made available for the occasion, a beautiful slice of conviviality and fraternity.
The day ended with a friendship meal at Bruno's around the memory of the late Serge Label.
Bike rides will continue as long as the weather permits. Anyone who practices cycling around Sarrancolin can join this dynamic and welcoming club. Information on 07 57 44 66 82.
