Essonne: an 18-year-old man dies in a collision with a tanker on the A6 motorway

The A6 motorway experienced yet another tragedy this Wednesday morning in Essonne. A utility vehicle occupied by two people violently collided with a tanker truck near Évry-Courcouronnes, in the -Province direction.

When emergency services intervened around 9 a.m., the two occupants of the van were trapped in the passenger compartment, seriously injured. Around twenty firefighters carried out maneuvers to free them, in conjunction with two Smur teams. The Dragon 75.1 helicopter was also mobilized.

Despite the efforts of rescuers, the passenger in the utility vehicle was pronounced dead in the morning. He was 18 years old. The second victim is the driver, a 60-year-old woman. She was airlifted in absolute emergency to the Henri-Mondor hospital in Créteil (Val-de-). His vital prognosis was compromised during his transport.

An investigation was immediately opened by the CRS motorway to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. According to the first information brought to our attention, the van hit the rear of the truck head-on, whose tank was empty.
