Marine Houziaux opens her chocolate-confectioner micro-business in Bonneuil-les-Eaux. A world far from his first studies of law and political science.
Chocolate, fruit jellies, nougats, berlingots, beggars, marshmallow bears, violet candies, caramels… Marine Houziaux's products make your mouth water. Visitors to the Breteuil market were able to discover a nice sample this Saturday, November 2.
At 31, the young woman began a new professional turning point by launching her own business, nicely named “La Boîte à Bonheur”.
Law and science

Nothing, however, predestined her to become a chocolatier-confectioner.
General baccalaureate, she is in fact heading towards studies of law and political science: “I woke up in the 3rd year of my degree”. She then understands that she will not find her professional fulfillment in the Civil Code.
Even as a child, Marine loved doing something with her hands, baking with her father.
This reminiscence is imposed on the young woman who exchanges a possible lawyer's dress for a pastry chef's hat. With a CAP in hand, she began an apprenticeship with Stéphane Bisson, a renowned chocolatier from Amiens.
Teacher
Sure of her choice, Marine pushes the cursor to the Technical Trade Certificate, chocolate option. “It was complicated, I had to create a dissertation in which I proposed the opening of a food truck that I called La Boîte à Bonheur.”
Having obtained her precious certificate, she turned to teaching within an organization in the south of Oise where she continues to work.
After 4 years, the idea of becoming self-employed matured. “I asked my husband, and he agreed.”
“I love sugar candies and I love introducing people to different chocolates. For orders, it takes two weeks to wait because I want to offer the freshest possible product to customers.“.
A chocolate Advent calendar
This is how the resident of Bonneuil-les-Eaux became self-employed.
As a chocolatier-confectioner, Marine prepares everything in a room set up in her house. “I was helped by the Chamber of Trades to have a suitable kitchen and a storage room”. The name of his small business? “The happiness box” of course, in reference to his technical patent thesis.
Since then, little treats have multiplied in his workshop: “I love sugar candies and I love introducing people to different chocolates. For orders, it takes two weeks to wait because I want to offer the freshest product possible to customers.“.
For the end of year celebrations, the professional is preparing a limited edition Advent calendar and many other surprises.
His dream is, within two years, to give up teaching. “I want to open a real store and have my husband work alongside me.”
The manager of “La Boîte à Bonheur” aims to stay in a rural area, just to prove that you can also do exciting things there.
