Massignac: once again crowned Best Hotel in outside , the Domaine des Étangs is organizing its first Christmas market

The hotel ranks well ahead of other upscale destinations, such as hotels in Méribel, Évian, Dinard and La Baule, among others. A reward which is added to the two “keys” awarded last spring by the Michelin Guide (award awarded to hotels). But which also allows his restaurant, “Dyades”, to envisage a more serene future, with the arrival last February of a new chef, Matthieu Pasgrimaud. A stable team which has the ambition to attract and retain a more local clientele. And why not, in the future, get this restaurant a Michelin star, which would be “the icing on the cake”.

“A five-star hotel can be scary when you don’t know it. »

It is in the attic of the castle that the first Christmas market of the Domaine des Étangs will be held.

Make space in the attic

The hotel complex is constantly looking for new activities to offer. Both for its customers and to bring in a new audience who don't know the place and who wouldn't dare push the door. “A five-star hotel can be scary when you don’t know it,” admits Olivia Accerani. With her “customer experience” manager, Anouk Grand-Stivil, they are preparing a big event. For the first time, a Christmas market will be held on the estate. Not in its immense gardens dotted with works of art, but in the magnificent attic of the castle, so as not to have to depend on the weather conditions.

“Above all, we want people to come in and discover the place,” explains Olivia Accerani. This period is a good time to come together, get to know each other and build relationships. » The 13th century castlee century will be accessible free of charge and for an entire afternoon. Customers will mingle with visitors, looking for a gift idea, in the final stretch before the holidays. But first we'll have to make room.

Currently, a huge games room occupies the space, with tables for playing cards, a pool table, and sofas. It will therefore be necessary to move everything, in order to accommodate visitors but also the fifteen to twenty local artisans, who will offer candles, soap, wooden objects and even children's books, among others. But gourmets will not be forgotten and will be able to find saffron, chocolate and other local products there. As well as a small stand of sweet treats, which will be prepared by the estate's pastry chef, Anaïs Mouchart. The opportunity to feast your eyes and taste buds.

Christmas market at Domaine des Étangs. Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. FREE ENTRANCE.
