A 26-year-old man died on the night of Saturday October 19 to Sunday October 20, after his car hit a tree on national road 7 (D2007), in Fontenay-sur-Loing.
The tragedy occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m., this Sunday, October 20, on national road 7 (D2007), in the town of Fontenay-sur-Loing, in Montargois, at a place called Les Gillets.
A car completely on fire
The exact circumstances of the accident are not yet known, but a car, the only one involved, hit a tree. The victim, a 26-year-old man, was ejected from the passenger compartment following the impact. She was pronounced dead. The vehicle was completely engulfed in flames when emergency services arrived.
Nineteen firefighters were engaged (with six operational vehicles), including a dog team to search for a potential additional victim. The Smur (mobile emergency and resuscitation structure) of Montargis and the gendarmerie were also on site.
