(Keystone-ATS) The Federal Commission for Gambling Houses (CFMJ), together with the Berne Cantonal Police, carried out searches on Wednesday evening in four establishments in Interlaken and Unterseen (BE). There were strong suspicions of illegal gambling operations.

The CFMJ seized nine slot machines, the Confederation’s body fighting against illegal gambling said on Thursday. On all machines, gaming platforms with qualified casino games, such as “Vegas Multigame Offline” or “XXXtra Casinogames”, were present.

These platforms offer a wide variety of qualified casino games, the press release said. In addition, the CFMJ seized various mobile phones, electronic data carriers, computers, documents and cash with a total value exceeding 5,500 francs.

Up to five years in prison

As a result, administrative criminal proceedings were opened against all those responsible. The provision, organization or operation of casino games without the necessary concession is punishable, recalls the CFMJ.

All those charged will have to answer for violations of the federal law on gambling, adds the control body. They risk custodial sentences of up to five years or financial penalties.
