The drought is behind us. While in mid-August 2024, the prefecture of Maine-et-Loire had raised the alert levels for certain water basins in the department due to a deficit of precipitation, this October 9, 2024 puts an end to the latest restrictions related to water use.

In a press release released that same day, the prefect announced that “the rainfall of recent weeks has helped to strengthen the hydrological situation in the department.” Concretely, the area has been sufficiently watered for the screw to be loosened.
