The facts date back to August 24, 2021, in Beauvais. According to Oise Hebdo, the man attacked his partner, who was sleeping in his bed, and struck her twice on the head with a hammer. For two days, the Oise Assize Court tried this man for attempted murder.
The trial is expected to end Monday afternoon. The accused will be tried for beatings against his partner. During that tragic night, the police discovered a woman with a bloody face on a bed in her apartment. It was the main suspect who called the police, to whom he confided that he had also stabbed the victim in the eye.
Schizophrenic and repeat offender
The companion, fifty years old, had been transported to the Amiens hospital center, and her life was not in danger. The accused confides that he met his partner during a stay in a psychiatric hospital and that he attacked her because she insulted him.
The man was then placed under reinforced guardianship. Already in 2013, he stabbed his aunt but the case was dismissed because he was declared irresponsible, due to his schizophrenia. From now on, the Assize Court must look into the alteration or abolition of the accused’s discernment during this new trial.
