Nine starters out of sixteen “made in Normandy”
More than half the peloton! Nine of the sixteen runners in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe are “made in Normandy”. Including the three favorites: Sosie, Look de Vega and Shin Emperor.
Sosie and Aventure were bred by the Wertheimers at the Haras de Saint-Léonard, Look de Vega by Joëlle Mestrallet at the Haras de la Morsanglière, the Japanese Shin Emperor at the Haras des Monceaux (before being purchased for €2.1 million at the Deauville in 2022), Al Riffa was born at the Étreham stud, Mqse de Sévigné is a pure Rothschild product, Zarakem grew up in the Eure with Jean-Paul Cayrouse, Delius is trained in Deauville by Jean-Claude Rouget, and Sunway was bred by Guy Pariente near Deauville.
