Some 5,000 people flocked to Champoz on Saturday for the traditional autumn market

A long column of cars already announced the color on Saturday morning along the road linking Bévilard to Champoz. Two parking areas had been planned for the fall market, but this was not enough given the crowd which exceeded 5,000 people during the day.
President of the organizing committee for three years, Joan Stoller was delighted with the growing success of the market, which is said to be the largest in French-speaking Switzerland to showcase craftsmanship. During this 14th edition, no less than 138 exhibitors had the privilege of presenting jewelry, soaps, local products and other creations to the public. Not bad for a hamlet which has no more than 160 inhabitants.
Human warmth
Here and there in the narrow streets of the village, we were able to come across charcuterie sellers coming straight from Graubünden, a French painter, or even a designer living in Vevey. For these exhibitors from far away as for the local artisans, the objective of the day was the same: to meet new customers and enjoy a friendly atmosphere between traders.
For families, the main audience of the market, there was something for all tastes and for all ages. In addition, three concerts brightened the day, and the little ones were able to ride a donkey or exercise on an inflatable castle.
