Two people were arrested Friday as part of the investigation carried out after members of a group of ultras from Sédun charged police officers last July. The events took place before a match between FC Sion and FC-Lausanne-Sport.

The public prosecutor has opened an investigation in particular for attempted simple or even serious bodily harm, riot, violence or threats against the authorities and civil servants. The provisional detention of the two alleged perpetrators has been requested and investigations “are continuing in order to identify other participants in these facts”, indicates the Valais public prosecutor in a press release.

Hits, spits, throws

On July 27, near the Tourbillon stadium, the group of ultras from Sédun left the planned route, “with the aim of going to battle with the supporters of FC Lausanne-Sports,” reports the public prosecutor. Valais police officers intervened, ordering the group to return to the usual route.

The individuals then “charged the police officers, who were very violently attacked”, with “blows, spitting, throwing stones and other objects”, details the prosecution. The latter, however, managed to repel the assault and were not injured.
