The event took place this summer on the banks of Lake Geneva and will end this weekend.

Lausanne jardin offers, over 6 km from Chamberonne to Vuachère, 40 gardens on land and water. They explore the theme of water and offer reflection on the city’s current issues. The event also aims to highlight water resources and their uses.

Water at the heart of the meeting in 2024

Lausanne Jardins 24 wanted to highlight the services that this essential resource, to be preserved, provides: drinking water for human beings and animals but also water as a means of transport, a place of leisure and refreshment, a rich biotope in biodiversity, energy source, etc…

Organized since 1997 every five years by the Urban Garden Association (AJU) in close collaboration with the Parks and Estates Department of the City of Lausanne, Lausanne Jardins contributes to the urban and landscape transformation of the city by bringing plants back to the heart of built space while developing practices.

Activities all summer

Many activities were offered over the summer: workshops which invite you to discover the biodiversity of the site, such as that of the Chamberonne river, walks which retrace the history of hidden rivers, or thematize the issues water treatment, mask and snorkel trips to discover the underwater flora. The Lausanne Jardins 24 course is accessible free of charge 24 hours a day. You still have a few days to enjoy it, until this Saturday, October 5.
