The Metropolis of Lyon paid tribute to the former deputy mayor of Lyon in charge of housing, who died on September 11.
A metropolitan council was held this Monday at the Hôtel de la Métropole in Lyon. Before the opening of the session, a tribute was paid to the former deputy mayor of Lyon, who died on September 11. A minute of silence was observed.
It will be recalled that Louis Lévêque was elected in the 8th arrondissement between 1995 and 2001, before Gérard Collomb’s victory in 2001. He was then elected to the City of Lyon in what was then the “plural left” between 2001 and 2014 He was notably deputy in charge of city and housing policy, and had devoted his mandates to the reduction of social inequalities, in particular for a fairer distribution of access to social housing. He was notably a member of the administration committee of the Mermoz social center, and that of GrandLyon Habitat, as a qualified person.
Raphaël Debû, metropolitan councilor and federal secretary of the Communist Party, paid a vibrant tribute to the elected official.
