The festival is back on the Prado beaches in Marseille from September 4 to 8. The 2024 edition plans to celebrate the event’s 10th anniversary with a great lineup.

An edition with a special flavor. The Delta Festival once again arrives on the beaches of Prado in Marseille from Wednesday, September 4, and until Sunday, September 8. Five days to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the event that livens up the Marseille summer every year.

The organizers promise an “XXL edition” with “an even more immersive scenography around the Phocaean city, shows mixing pyrotechnics, songs, dances and still dozens of stands to personalize your festival outfits with sequins and flowers.”

· Gazo, Justice, Jain: more than 250 artists

For this 10th edition, more than 250 artists will perform on the five stages of the Delta Festival, still set up on the Prado beaches.

To start the festivities off right, the day of Wednesday will be marked by the presence of the French electro group Justice. SCH, Julien Granel, Caravan Palace and Clara Cuvé are also announced.

THURSDAYfestival-goers will be able to see Mandragora, Martin Solveig, PLK, Helmut Fritz, The Avener, Hysta and Trym. The day of Friday will be marked by the presence of Gazo, Fatal Bazooka, Astrix, Feder, Yamê, and even Miss Kriss and Calao.

Trinix, Mathame, Kas:st, Brina Knauss, Joachim Pastor and Elif will be there SATURDAY. Finally, Jain, Tiakola, Acid Arab, Yuksek, Vini Vici and Oguz and Popof will come to close the festival. Sunday.

For latecomers, there are still day tickets available, for 70 and 80 euros, as well as multi-day passes. The full programme and ticketing can be found on the festival website.

· Organized citizen debates

Delta Festival is not only synonymous with music: the “world of possibilities” was set up in 2022, a forum for engagement to discuss various themes. Citizen debates are organized throughout the festival on themes such as health, international, economy, environment, living together and culture.

“Your opinion counts and can make things happen! The proposals voted on during the citizens’ convention will then be transcribed into a White Paper, which will then be entrusted to political and economic decision-makers,” explains the festival.

Thematic villages are spread across the entire Delta site: health, start-ups, opportunities, sea, arts, student life, living together, international, environment and territory.

· An environmentally friendly festival

For this 10th edition, the festival also assures that it has “redoubled its efforts to work closely with local associations involved in protecting the environment”.

An approach that “is part of a strong desire to reconcile celebration and environmental responsibility”, the managers explain in a press release. Among these Marseille structures, we find in particular 1 Waste per Day et Clean My Calanquesengaged in cleaning public spaces and particularly the coastline.

Natacha Grimaldi, event manager, welcomes the absence of plastic bottles, the presence of a “green brigade” to ensure selective sorting and the good visibility of bins on the site, as well as the ban on conventional sun creams in favor of a biodegradable version offered by the organizers, “a rare detail.”

A big clean-up is also being organized on Monday, September 9, just after the festival starting at 5 p.m. On the program for “Clean My Delta”: picking up trash on the beaches but with a DJ, gifts and snacks.

· Catering, transport, prevention

It will of course be possible to eat on the festival site during the five days. In total, 30 food trucks will be present on site, open from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. from Wednesday to Saturday and only until midnight on Sunday.

Always wanting to work for the environment, the festival’s food trucks prioritize local products and limit the use of single-unit packaging as much as possible. All respect an eco-responsibility card.

Environment therefore, but also prevention of sexist and sexual violence. A “safe zone” is set up within the festival site while 30 volunteers from the “safe” bridage are present every day on the prowl. Festival-goers can also use the “The Sorority” application to alert people around them in the event of a problem.

Finally, to get to the festival, the organization recommends the use of public transport and soft mobility. “The RTM and the Aix-Marseille Metropolis are extending the metro timetables for the Delta Festival and are setting up shuttles from the Rond-Point du David to the Rond-Point du Prado,” the festival specifies. The shuttles stop at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 2:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
