While this training network is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, this is bad news. According to information from France 3 Côte d’Azur, School 42 in Nice is in receivership.
It was the first concerned who were informed: the students of Ecole 42 received a message from the establishment, announcing to them that the Nice branch, located within the Nice Méridia eco-valley, was in recovery judicial.
On the Bodacc site (the official bulletin of civil and commercial announcements), the information is officially confirmed. The school, in default since June 13, 2023, was placed in receivership on June 26, 2023, with an observation period of 6 months. It is referenced there as a non-contract private higher education association.
The Nice school had opened in 2020, on the model of its big Parisian sister: a free private school, which is accessed after the so-called “swimming pool” test.
For a month, the candidates multiply the computer code exercises. Once selected, they find themselves in quasi-autonomy. Not really a teacher or lessons, the students learn from others, by developing projects and correcting each other.
On its website, Ecole 42 Nice boasts of offering “the best computer training with unique and innovative working methods”. She advocates “inclusion, free and excellence” for all: no diploma or course required to be admitted, you just need to be 18 years old.
While Xavier Niel, the boss of Free and founder of Ecole 42, has managed to sell his concept in 10 towns in France, and even abroad (the school is present in 29 countries), what he passed so that the Nice antenna finds itself in receivership?
According to the first information available to France 3 Côte d’Azur, it could be poor local management.
We do not yet know what the consequences will be for students currently enrolled in classes in Nice.
