A young man riding his bike in Saguenay was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle that fled the scene on Tuesday evening.

The collision occurred around 9:45 p.m. at the corner of Rue Price Est and Rue Morin, in the Chicoutimi sector, for reasons that remain to be determined. The driver fled the scene after the incident.

The young adult who was riding a bike suffered serious injuries that put his life in danger. He was still in intensive care on Wednesday morning.

“We are waiting for reconstructionists from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) to fully understand what happened,” said Hervé Berghella, spokesperson for the Saguenay Police Department.

The area involved is completely closed to traffic to preserve the investigation elements and the clues found on the ground.

No suspects have been arrested in this case so far, although it is said that there is “very little evidence” about the car involved in this case.
